No Western vaccines to spare in near-term, for love or money. By the time they're available, we won't need them. Thanks to our own world-class vaccine makers.

Reading this while all the hoopla around Pfizer is unfolding at Davos - Jan 2023. If not for our Atmanirbhar saviours, India would have got shafted, with accompanying lectures. Thanks for the well compiled report, Anand.
Excellent analysis. I think other than people below poverty line in India, there was absolutely no need for the ridiculous pricing in the first place. Unnecessary interference and uncalled for centralization and lack of working capital at some points have led india to this position. It would have been far better had 56 inches not made a mockery of common sense on raw material, conversion and distribution. People can pay to save their lives and that payment should have gone back to enhancing the infrastructure of these two stellar companies. Profit should have been made. Legitimate profit is hardly seen in India and no one should be forced to become a martyr just because they running world class facilities in India

There are saner ways to get to truth, that are hidden otherwise by Media glare and blare. You have done great service when it is most needed! What we need most is for the government to nurture this ecosystem, not threaten it. But given our socialist overhang governments are afraid opposition will make a hue and cry. A multi-party consensus might help in overcoming this. Will it happen?
