Hello Sir, you can get the data for 2020 and 2021 from crstn.org. 2020 registered deaths were 687364 and deaths registered until yesterday were 444301. Also, TN saw around 10% change in 2019 and 8% in 2020. So what should be the estimate one must take for 2021 according to this data?

I have the following questions and one comment: 1. When you say a large percentage of indian deaths are registered and that this % I showing rising trend, are rural deaths also included in this figure?

2. How is death counted in decadal census data? Is that figure more or less accurate than CRS Data?

Comment: Thank indian state issue well capable of generating numbers When it suits it. Therefore, no point in criticising others in this case, instead timely release of accurate data may solve the issue. Otherwise, we have to figure out whose eldest son to kidnap 😀

I also read one article about deaths in MP. The author mentioned 42 times excess deaths but when I checked CRS data for the year 2018 and 2019 there were huge discrepancy. For 2019 the author's data had around 50000 less deaths. Such analysis with bad data leads to people not believing in good analysis too.

The cemeteries were full. The officials were filings FIRs on those who dared say there was deficiency of oxygen and people risked death, and the workers at the body-burning ghats plainly testified officials were too scared to count the numbers. That does not look like half a million people dead in one and a half years. Spin it with all the math you know - the truth is the numbers are under-reported.
