I am a proud value investor and am sometimes confounded by these simplistic definitions and this article does a great job explaining it....Low P/B or Low P/CF stocks are all primary value and i don't think most Value investors have thrived blindly buying primary value; Primary value is only a necessary but not a sufficient condition. Primary value + margin of safety+ many other aspects of value , which the mkt is currently ignoring but is bound to recognise eventually qualify as potential investments. Sadly, Journalists/ Index hugging FMs/ Sell-side strategists don't get this ever...
