Being a small Investor and having no direct access to promoters of small companies, whats the best way to ascertain a focused promoter. With a tinge of hindsight bias a lot of market commentary is available to proclaim for eq:- that a XYZ private bank promoter should be backed and an ABC should be avoided.
I'm not sure of small companies, but for most, there is a paper trail of what promoters have said & subsequently done over many years, across interviews, annual reports etc. Reviewing everything available in public domain has been my best way to gauge a promoter's mindset
